If the vertical distance from the fixed height to the bottom of the catenary is 20 metres, then what is the distance between the two supporting buildings?

A FORTY metre chain of equal weight per unit of length has each end attached at the same height to the walls of two buildings. The shape that the chain forms is called a "catenary" (see the diagram).
